Marshmello has had an amazing year without a doubt. It is no shock that he was awarded the artist of the year in the Electronic Dance Music category.
He has preformed at several festivals, had a few singles top the charts this year, and never failed to please his fans and crowd. Other nominees in the category were The Chainsmokers and Zed. All three of these names are well renowned and known internationally. His success was most likely due to his iconic most recent release ‘Happier’. ‘Happier’ was a collab with Bastille, and was top of the charts for over a month after it was released in August. Two months after the release, it remains in the top 10. Last year Marshmello also collaborated with other vocalists such as Selena Gomez, Khalid and others, all of which were big hits.
Marshmello could not attend this year due to being on tour, however below is his performance with Selena Gomez of their song ‘Wolves’ at the 2017.
