Indian Trap releases “Trapped.”

Following the success of his debut single, “Look Like Monayyy,” which garnered over 2 million views on YouTube and 10 million plays on SoundCloud, producer Jay Singh, professionally known as Indian Trap is back with a new release titled, “Trapped.”

The song which features female rapper KresZenia and R&B artist Chris Scholar feels fresh and new by combining multiple genres and elements.

He says, “Trapped‘ is a fusion of Trap and Hip Hop Music combined with authentic Indian vocals, Indian rhythmic percussion and sounds with banging dirty 808’s. It has an infectious uplifting R&B chorus combined with female rap vocals in the verses. The biggest inspiration for me is for my music to be felt, not just heard.”

Jay Singh, the producer behind Indian Trap, was born in the UK and raised in London. He says, “I come from a musical family spanning many generations. My first love of music was urban music, especially hip-hop and R&B, as well as Indian music. From there I followed my passion and started to DJ. Through that, I found my love for EDM music as well.

In 2002, Indian Trap won the prestigious Ministry of Sounds DJ idol competition in London, UK, which opened doors for him to play alongside world-renowned DJ’s such as David Guetta, Tiesto, and Paul Oakenfield. He then moved into remixing for record labels, as well as producing his own music. In 2008 he got the opportunity to come and work with labels and artists in the US and has since remixed music for Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and produced/co-wrote tracks for Cassie and Shakira.

All of these experiences have given him the experience he needs to launch his own project, Indian Trap. He says, “I’ll be releasing the Indian Trap EP soon and I am currently releasing singles from the project. I am collaborating with different artists to feature on future Indian Trap songs and also adding the World Afro Beat sounds to my music. I feel blessed to have these opportunities.
