The lead singer of the electronic music group the Prodigy, Keith Flint, has died at the age of 49. He was found this morning (March 4, 2019) at his home in Essex. The cause of death was of an apparent suicide.
This was followed by an official statement from Essex police:
“We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday. We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The Prodigy were an English electronic group. The group first formed in 1990. They were best known for their breakout hits ‘Firestarter’ and ‘Breathe.’ The Prodigy, along with The Chemical Brother and Fatboy Slim, has been credited as pioneers of the genre big beat.
The industry will deeply miss Flint. May he rest in peace.
