RÜFÜS DU SOL has finally released the long awaited album ‘Solace’. The trio told Forbes magazine, “We spent probably the most amount of hours we ever have in terms of working hours, and dove really really deep into this, which kind of produced a chaotic kind of disarray,”. “We were driving ourselves into the ground sometimes, but also we were so obsessed with making this thing.”
The album was inspired by their two year touring expedition and by the move they made from Australia to Los Angeles for better opportunities. The trio moved into a home in LA where they set up a full studio and spend countless hours to compose this long awaited album.
“The only kind of guiding light that kept us a little bit steady was making the music and remembering that’s why we moved there in the first place,” he said. “There was a lot of comfort in just coming back to the music even to the point of our own sort of demise. It was like a big of an addiction, an escape.”
In an iTunes Review, keyboardist Jon George stated “There’s a real sense of chaos on this record. Darker, more chaotic feels… like being lost in the abyss a little bit.”
This definitely has a different sound than their previous albums, this one has more lyric focus and meaning. These lyrics were all inspired from their real life trials.
SOLACE tour will kick off on October 24 in Charlotte, North Carolina and continue through out North America.
