In an interview with Apple, LA’s RL Grime speaks about the change of genre from his previous album, VOID to his newly released NOVA.
VOID was primarily bass, and NOVA is far from that. RL stated “I wanted to use that same energy, but bring it up into the sky, into space. I spent a lot of the last three years in my own head, just dealing with depression and anxiety and anything that comes with the touring life of a musician.”
In this album he truly stepped out of his comfort zone, specifically by adding Jeremih and Tory Lanez to his song, “Undo”.
RL Grime’s NOVA has a much brighter sound, some songs are trap, some future bass.
