A week after the announcement of Porter Robinson’s Multiverse festival, the DJ has been faced with controversy. He had received some complaints and has set to change the festival’s name. Organizers of another Oakland festival, Multivrs is Illuminated, have reached out to him and Goldenvoice in an open letter.
Jade Ariana Fair and Shawna Shanté Scroggins are the organizers of the Multivrs is Illuminated festival. The festival is a “black and brown punk fest.”
In the open letter, Fair and Scroggins had listed in detail their reservations of Porter’s festival. Since the backlash, Robinson has changed the name of the festival to “Second Sky Music Festival.”
