After announcing his touring retirement, Hardwell still played his last show that he committed to. He is going to take some time to enjoy his life without the pressures and deadlines of being Hardwell.
Towards the end of his set, he did not fail to play ‘Level’ by his late close friend, Avicii. “Amsterdam, if you’re enjoying yourself, if you’re having a good time can i get some hands in the air for Avicii!” The crowd seemed a bit emotional after that, but appreciated the sentiment and enjoyed the rest of his set.
Avicii’s death highly impacted Hardwell. This event might have had a helping hand in his decision to retire as Hardwell has spoken about Mental health and its correlation with the EDM scene.
Hardwell hinted that he will be making a return with a closing statement of “Music is the most universal language…… I will be back!”
